Celebrating Jenn Bujalski’s Success at IAPLC 2025
The world’s largest aquascaping contest—the International Aquatic Plants Layout Contest (IAPLC)—has announced its results. Among the thousands of entries, one name from the U.S. has shone brightly: Jenn Bujalski, manager of FFP’s Aquariums & Aquascaping department, has earned a place in the top 300!
What is IAPLC?
For those unfamiliar, the IAPLC is organized by ADA (Aqua Design Amano) and has become the premier global competition for aquascapers, hobbyists, and artists who design underwater landscapes. Entrants submit layouts of planted aquariums, and submissions are judged on layout composition, use of aquatic plants, photographic presentation, and overall harmony, among other criteria. The 2025 contest drew 1,533 entries from 77 countries.
Jenn Bujalski’s Achievement
Jenn Bujalski placed 297th in the 2025 IAPLC World Ranking.
This is especially noteworthy given the scale of the contest; being in the top ~300 of over 1,500 is a strong achievement and places Jenn among respected peers in the international aquascaping community.
Why This Matters
It isn’t just about the number. Here are a few reasons why Jenn’s placement is meaningful:
- Recognition among the best. To be ranked among winners and ranked works is a mark of excellence. It shows Jenn’s artistic eye, technical skill, and patience (no small thing in aquascaping).
- Motivation for growth. Many contestants use their IAPLC submissions not just as entries, but as learning exercises—refining layout design, lighting, plant health, and photo presentation. Placing in the top 300 suggests Jenn is already doing many things right, but there’s room to see what the top works are doing differently.
- Visibility. IAPLC has global reach. Jenn’s work will appear in the upcoming IAPLC Book (which collects works up to ~1500th place) and likely draw attention from other hobbyists, potential collaborators, or followers interested in aquascaping.
Final Thoughts
Placing 297th in IAPLC 2025 is something to celebrate. It’s proof that Jenn Bujalski’s passion, effort, and creativity are resonating on the world stage. As aquascaping continues to grow in popularity and artistic recognition, milestones like this both honor past work and light the path for future growth.
